Day 0 — Little Rock to Texarkana

The faithful are gathering. At our hotel in Texarkana, as many as 20 Firebirds, Trans Ams and others are here, and the numbers are expected to grow throughout the week. Our 1979 Trans Am made the trip without incident, and the 130 mile drive was both pleasent as well as fun, with the windows down and the three of us enjoying the roads and the lack of traffic.
The day itself was not without incident as one of my flights lost an engine at takeoff, forcing a quick return to the airport. Our route on Tuesday, the first day of the event, takes us to Tupelo, Ms. a distance of 382 miles.
