Elva automobiles were built in the United Kingdom by not one or two, but three companies at different times in their ten-year history from 1958 to 1968. Their most famous car was the Courier, built using MGA running gear and a fiberglass body. It is estimated that about 700 cars were built. Elva Engineering Ltd of Bexhill, Sussex, was sold in 1962 to Trojan, Ltd of Croyden, Surrey, after the failure of the American importer of Courier’s. Ken Sheppard Sports cars, Ltd of Shenley, Hertfordshire, took over in 1965, by 1968, production of Elva cars ceased.
